FERGUSON: Cameron Peter Lloyd October 5, 1949 – December 20, 2016 Cameron Peter Lloyd Ferguson of Spalding, SK, passed away on December 20, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer. He was 67 years old.

The Melfort Mustangs continue to get better and the results are starting to follow as they go into the Christmas break as the winners of three of their last four games.

The Melfort Legion and a prominent citizen are concerned a revamp of the Memorial Garden would change the green space-focused nature of the downtown Melfort location. John Wade made a presentation to council at their meeting Dec.

Even though they have been here for a few weeks, people from the community finally got to welcome the Syrian family to Humboldt at a potluck dinner on Dec. 19.

Carlton Trail College handed out $41,000 in scholarships and awards on Dec. 15 with their awards dinner. Forty-five students were recognized for academic performance as well as, for some awards, financial need and early application scholarships.

There are wonderful things on the ocean floor and HCI got to show them off at their recent productions of the Little Mermaid Jr. on Dec. 16-17.

A sense of nostalgia was felt in the HCI gym on Dec. 18.

It is the most wonderful time of the year. And no I am not talking about Christmas time, I am talking about World Junior time.

I do love the Christmas season. Everyone, for the most part, is all cheery and happy. You get smiles on the street from strangers and happy holidays wishes as people shop.
