The Mohawks captured the provincial gold with a thrilling 2-1 win over the Muenster Cougars in the championship match in North Battleford on Oct. 29. The Mohawks kicked off their provincial championship on Oct. 28 when they took on Maymont.

The National Hockey League community is a great group. You oftentimes see players punching each other in the face or slashing each other with sticks but you seldom see them come together.

We hear it all the time; the argument that Remembrance Day promotes violence and war. I am not going to disputes anyone’s beliefs to the contrary, but I think there are some things that need to be discussed. Bad people exist.

GAETZ: Gladys Lillian April 8, 1918 – October 22, 2016 The death of Mrs. Gladys Lillian (nee Newton) Gaetz of Humboldt, SK, occurred at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, on Saturday, October 22, 2016. She was 98 years of age.

The City of Humboldt has spoken and continuity was quite clearly on their minds. \With Mayor Malcolm Eaton retiring from office, the city was guaranteed a new mayor and the overwhelming choice was former councilor Rob Muench.

I am happy to see so many councillors running for the election this time around. Eleven candidates for council and three for mayor is nothing to sneeze at. However, I am discouraged by the fact that there are only two women among a 14 person race.

It started off in 1986 as the St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Foundation. Now the Humboldt and District Hospital Foundation celebrates 30 years being apart of the community and providing healthcare funding to the area. On Oct.

The girls traveled to Caronport for the 1A Girls Region D Regional Championship. The Mohawks kicked off the tournament in dominating fashion as they blitzed the hometown Cougars 8-0 to qualify for the final.
