Battlefords students were among 3,400 who earned degrees from the University of Saskatchewan during spring convocation June 3 to 6.

There was some doubt as to whether the time capsule from Connaught School's two incarnations would be located before the end of a centennial celebration June 1. However, 15 minutes before the event was due to end, it was finally uncovered.

June already! For those of us parents who think the time has sped up closer to their child's graduation, it won't be long now. With just a couple of weeks of classes before exams, grad preparations are in high gear.

An enthusiastic group of 14 members of the Battlefords Art Club met at the Don Ross Centre Tuesday for painting. We were pleased to have Kay back after a winter away. Kathy Wisner from the United States was also here to visit.

It is a few weeks since I last wrote a column for the Regional Optimist. An accidental fall in which I broke my right wrist as well as my right hip have been responsible.
