Soggy weekend, but better days ahead

We experienced wet weather on the weekend. Besides rain, the ground was blanketed with snow twice. Temperatures were low, slightly above zero. Perhaps when this has run its course we will really have spring.

Sharing a feast with neighbours

Friday Colleen Koski and Beth Maves enjoyed a shopping trip to Lloydminster. A number of the apartment people enjoyed the music by the Ramblers and a delicious turkey supper at the Pine Island Suites.

Centre hosts seniors' fitness association

Cribbage was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre April 21. High score went to Dorothy Schwartz and low to Denise Newton. Jean Hartman provided lunch. Bingo was played April 22 with Jean Smith and Margaret MacEachern doing the calling.

Borden and District Co-op held their supper and 99th annual meeting April 24 in the Borden Community Centre, with the Borden Lions serving supper to about 100 guests. Welcoming everyone and giving the blessing was board member Gary Nickel.

Students returned to class on Monday after Easter break. It looked more like the Christmas break had just finished, but it is Saskatchewan! The SLC sponsored an Easter egg hunt in the rink for the elementary students just before the break.

Battlefords Community Players just returned from TheatreFest 180 in Swift Current, having swept the four top awards at the 2014 festival. The festival, presented by Theatre Saskatchewan Inc.

Rosie and the Riveters enjoy NB connections

Rosie and the Riveters is a female quartet from Saskatoon who revisit the spirit of gospel music with a retro 1940s flare. They are due to perform Friday evening at the Sloan Auditorium, the lower level of the North Battleford Legion.
