Battlefords Art Club members all worked on a project on a fine spring day Tuesday, including watercolour pieces, sketches and acrylic paint. We invite everyone to our sale at the Chapel Gallery Friday, May 2 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Another dozen or so snowbirds have returned to their summer homes in the area and are boosting attendance at community events, which is most welcome.

Catch The Ten Whist was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre April 7 with Lil McMillan hosting and providing lunch. High score went to Jean Stewart and low to Lil McMillan.

The Borden Friendship Club spring tea and bake sale was well attended with close to 50 to enjoy a variety of pies or desserts. Proceeds went to help defray the $300 sponsorship of an SOS Children's Village in Kenya that the club supports every year.

You've heard of singing for your supper but how about singing for someone to buy a fundraiser ticket? That's what our boys did on a Saturday afternoon, April 5, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. They even did requests.

Nashville 2014 performed April 12 in Mayfair.

The recreation board for the RM of Glenside held their first meeting of the new 2014 season at the home of Andrea Owen of Spinney Hill. Members attended from the three districts of Lizard Lake, Baljennie and Spinney Hill.

Easter's over; let's bring on aggressive spring weather instead of this nasty white stuff again. If you are a believer and follower of the Farmers' Almanac, April and May don't appear very promising.

The Battlefords Photo Club met on April 1 for their monthly meeting. The meeting started out with some fun, with the club photographing their "environment." which will be the challenge for May.

This Wednesday afternoon, the Meota Hobby Band will be in performance at the North Battleford Library. Everyone is welcome to attend. The performance starts at 2 p.m. and refreshments will follow the program.
