Cemetery cleanup day a washout but secret helpers finish the job

Cleanup day at the local cemetery was a washout due to the rain showers about. It had to be cancelled, but in the meantime. There were some periods of unexpected sunshine, however.

Recreation board hosts two events

Congratulations to Devon Cardiff and Sheila Gessner who were married June 7. The beautiful wedding took place in the yard at the Cardiff family home. Visiting with Janet and Chris Makey presently is their daughter, Kim. Kim makes her home in Ontario.

Bingo was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre June 11 with Jon Smith and Margaret MacEachern doing the calling. The loonie pot was won by Verla Mitchell. Lunch was provided by Bev Stewart and Denise Newton.

The school year is quickly coming to a close and so are the extracurricular activities. The junior golf district playoffs were held June 10 in Macklin. The golfers from our school were Conner Rothenburger , Ty Fouhy, Tyson Wawryk and Brayden Harris.

Records broken at K-6 track and field meet

The elementary track and field meet was held for the students from kindergarten to Grade 6 June 3. The day started around 10 a.m. The weather co-operated and there was an excellent turnout of spectators.
