The final business meeting of the year for the Rivers' Edge Quilt Guild was held May 2 in the Don Ross craft room with 20 members attending. Quilters are forever busy and the meeting was an engaging and lively event.

A number of local dance students took scholarships, trophies and awards home from the 34th Battlefords Dance Festival held over the Easter break week at the Dekker Centre.

Residents of all ages will join forces to help clean up city streets this Saturday, May 10. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. in Central Park (beside the North Battleford Public Library) at 1392 - 101st St.

Two great Mother's Day gifts in one day. Please join us at the newly renovated Maymont Seniors' Center May 10 for a Mother's Day Tea from 2 to 4 p.m. All who come get to take home their tea cup and saucer.

The Borden Dance Club held their 10th club recital in the Borden Community Centre May 3, with Lynette Schmidt as MC.

Weather has played havoc with some of the planned community work. May 3 a cemetery cleanup was planned but because of the low temperatures and some snow the work was postponed to a later date that will be announced.

The 24th annual Svoboda Dance Festival held in the Dekker Center over the last weekend was surely a delight to attend. We attended Saturday morning and afternoon only, but the performances were outstanding. The ages were from four to 18 years.

Spring is finally here and with it, the sounds of laughter and kids playing are in the air once again. Bike rides, shooting hoops and playground fun are just some of the ways kids get active in the spring and summer months.

The Living Sky School Division Board of Education intends to meet with the Catholic advisory committee to the division regarding the relocation of Grade 7 students from the Battlefords elementary schools to the North Battleford Comprehensive High Sch

There are several important dates to remember of upcoming events at the school. The drama and variety night has been changed from May 15 to Thursday, May 22. There will be a play and several musical numbers performed.
