The temperature didn't rise above - 10 C Sunday and the bitter wind made it feel much colder. Even though April is here it doesn't feel much like spring.

Signs of spring - fishing shacks off the lake

Meota is busy as usual, the latest action being the fish shacks coming off the lake by Monday. No reports as to how the fishing has been, but we hope they all had fun out there.

Volunteers helping with seniors' centre renovations

A government grant was received by the Maymont Seniors' Centre to replace the old cupboards and put in new flooring. Work started March 21 and will continue until the project is complete. Thank you to all those who are helping with the renovations.

Hockey season may be winding down for teams and players in this area, but hope springs eternal with the start of baseball season. This first week of April marks the opening week for Major League Baseball, a joyous time for fans of the game.

Traveller visits five countries in 45 days

Well it looks like spring might push through. Neilburg Minor Hockey will be holding their annual minor hockey banquet April 15 in the Neilburg hall at 6 p.m. This event is open to community members.

The month did not start out with April showers, so everyone will have to wait and see if there are any flowers by May. Hopefully, no more snowstorms and lots of sunshine.

Dorothy Kissick was to Lloydminster for an eye appointment and also visited with a friend Laura Cunningham. Riley and Chantal were supper guests with Colleen Koski Sunday. Mildred and Len Prokop of Saskatoon spent an afternoon with Rose Danychuck.

The Borden Museum held its annual meeting in the seniors' room March 27 with 12 out to hear the reports. Cyril Saunders gave the threshermen's report and spoke about the rental of porta-potties and building new steel portable bleachers in 2014.
