Curling history dates back to 1928

The Meota Curling Club was formed in 1928. The club possessed no rink and no rocksbut members were determined to play. The skating rink ice was marked off for their first games.

Duos what can I say about our Duos Night? It was truly fun, fun and more fun. Hats off to the ladies who sang with their partners. Great job, ladies. But a little scary; just ask me. Close to 100 people joined us March 15 in the Maymont Hall.

Spring arrived for a brief visit. There were a few muddy boots and pants during the week as students jumped in the puddles. Students were also still skating and playing broomball on the ice, so spring has not completely taken over the activities.

Last week we thought spring was on the way, but temperatures have once again fallen well below zero and winds have been cold. After the thaw, with low temperatures, there is lots of ice making walking difficult.

Minnehaha snowmobile rally hosts 78 riders

The Minnehaha snowmobile rally was held Feb. 17 with 78 riders. Winning the prizes were: first - Blaine Hamel of North Battleford, second - Charlotte Washbrook of Glaslyn and third - Addison Poole of Edam.

St. Patrick's Day tea enjoyed

Thursday morning coffee at the Pine Island Suits was enjoyed playing bingo and listening to jokes. A good start to the day. A number of apartment ladies enjoyed the St. Patrick's Day tea at the lodge catered to by the hospital auxiliary.
