St. Vital Council of Catholic Women's League celebrated their 50th anniversary Nov. 16. The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist co-celebrated by Bishop Albert Thévenot, Father Greg Elder and visiting priests and deacon.

A 20-year-old North Battleford student has earned an honourable mention in a National Kitchen and Bath Association student design competition.

Battlefords Art Club members were wrapping up work to be included in the next window salon show, Angels Live Here. Watch for it at the Chapel Gallery. Also coming up in the Chapel Gallery is a mask and puppet show that should be very interesting.

The annual Christmas craft and trade sale was held in the Neilburg Community Hall Nov. 20 with 29 tables of items for sale.

At the last meeting of the Maidstone Legion Ladies' Auxiliary, members decided to meet every three months for the winter. The December meeting was held as a Christmas supper and gift exchange.

A presentation of $5,000 was made by David Buckingham, on behalf of Canada Pump and Power Corporation of Ardrossan, Alta., to the Borden volunteer firefighters, Dec. 3.

Kevin Bossert was elected as the new representative for Division 4 in the Rural Municipality of Manitou Lake, No. 442 by-election, held Nov. 27. Bossert had a total of 18 votes while his opponent, Rick Swanstrom, had nine votes.

The lights are up. The shopping is done. Everything is wrapped and baked. There is no stress leading up to this Christmas.
