Blaine Lake Composite School (BLCS) held its annual awards presentation June 18 in the school gymnasium.

Visitors are invited to take a journey with participants in the 12-40 and Beyond, An Adventure in Rural Life, self-guided tour July 28 and 29.

The Crown Hill 4-H Beef Club, with 20 members from Borden, Hafford, Blaine Lake and Leask, held their achievement day June 24 at the Blaine Lake sports ground.

As I reported last week, Glenburn Regional Park received a facelift to the concession building, and this week a stage was erected, plus a dance floor, for the jam session over the long weekend. Thanks to Al Carnahan, John Reddekopp and Mel Deagnon.

The weather - it is as mystifying as this winter was. We seem to be always wondering "will we" or "won't we" be getting the severe weather the weather forecasts keep coming up with.

A celebratory moment for 10 Grade 9 students and their parents had a bittersweet feeling for staff and school supporters as the last graduation exercises were held for St. George School, June 15.

This week we will start with the graduating class of 2012 from H. Hardcastle School. This year there were only four students who have left the hallowed halls of H.H.S. The festivities started with a banquet held at the Legion June 27.

North Battleford Communities in Bloom is on a quest to identify three yards in the community to include in a tour by CIB judges July 26.
