Colleen Koski took Marlene Pike to Lloydminster for a medical appointment. Fran and Harry Genoe from Courtney, B.C. were visiting with Lil and Milt McMillan. Friday Greg Olson drove Theresa Kennedy to Lloydminster for a medical appointment.

New bingo players welcomed

Bingo was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre Sept. 14. There was good attendance and a few new players have joined in this fall. Joan Smith and Margaret MacEachern did the calling. Denise Newton provided lunch.

The Paynton fire department was called out Sept. 22 at 11:30 p.m. to a vehicle fire. What appears to be a stolen truck had been driven through a barbed wire fence and set on fire.

Salute to Seniors Week honours residents

Unity had another busy weekend Sept. 23 and 24. And thanks to the gorgeous Mr. Sunshine, it was a grand weekend to spend outdoors. The town has been and will be saluting seniors this week as national Salute to Seniors Week takes place.
