Belated birthday greetings to Gertie James, now of Lloydminster, who celebrated a special birthday Saturday evening, May 26. Family members gathered for a barbecue and festivities to celebrate the day.

It's blossom time here! Saskatoon, chokecherry, pincherry and other wild shrubs are in bloom. Those who have apple, crabapple and other fruit trees in their yards will be enjoying the blossoms. Let's hope we remain frost free.

St. Vital Catholic School is hosting a special student-created drama production called, Cool to Care Tour, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 30. Viewings will begin about every 15 minutes between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. The last 'tour' will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Doug Peake of Waldheim has had a love for wood his entire life, stemming back to his childhood as he reminisces about working at his dad's sawmill in Leask. Peake relocated to the West Coast and began a 30-year career as a logger.
