The winners in the Neilburg Christmas lighting contest have been announced. Chris Lepine and Tanya Zakall were the first place winners. Lyle and Della Thom had the second place display and Shauna and Mike McGillis placed third.

Maidstone Gully Multiple 4-H Club has had a couple of busy months. In the beginning of November, Members had a park to clean up and worked on memory lane.

I would like to apologize for my December news being late. Dec. 5, the Speers United Church hosted an ecumenical church service in Hafford with six churches taking part.

John Paul II Collegiate honoured six students with Crusader of the Month awards at the school's Advent Mass Dec. 20.

While several lucky members of the River's Edge Quilt Guild were enjoying the high seas and warm temperatures of other climes, 18 members met at the Don Ross craft room Jan 6 to review the past month, discuss plans for the first month of the new year

The warm weather continues. It's hard to believe we have not endured some cold weather yet. It's probably about to change in the next few days. Christmas and New Year's were busy times for most people.

The first meeting of the Maidstone Legion Ladies' Auxiliary No. 142 was held at the Legion Hall with seven members present. Plans were made to hold a cribbage, Kaiser tournament in the Legion Hall Saturday, Jan. 28. Registration is at 1 p.m.

Hi there! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family and lots of turkey and trimmings to enjoy. Good food to share with loved ones at this special time is all that matters.

Saturday, Dorothy Kissick was to Lloydminster with her daughter, Cindy and Joe. Sunday she spent New Year's Day with son Craig and Theresa Kissick.
