St. Patrick's Day might be in March, but Battlefords residents will be able to continue celebrating into May with two concerts of Celtic music scheduled in the next month.

Story:Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation has received a cheque for $5,000 from Garry's Construction Ltd (GCL) of Edam. "GCL decided to give this donation for Palliative Care at BUH in memory of my wife's late father Andy Bellanger.

Valentine's day is over. I hope you aren't spending a year making up for what you may or may not have done for your special someone. Halfway through February and we are still experiencing one of the mildest winters many can remember.

A potluck supper and Valentine's Day raffle was held in Ruddell Feb. 14 - what a nice way it was to spend Valentine's Day with family and friends. Hope you all had a good one.

The Rural Municipality of Hillsdale, No. 440, held a public open house Feb. 7 in the Neilburg Community Hall.

Love is in the air at John Paul II Collegiate. Every month, the John Paul II staff pick a virtue to be the month's theme. As one could guess, the staff fittingly picked this month's virtue to be love.

This week I introduce the final adjudicator for this year's Battlefords Kiwanis Music Festival.

Sonningdale hosted another Valentine event, as they do every year. What can I say? Great entertainment, decorations, excellent food and great company.

Isn't life wonderful? I mean with this weather, it feels more like spring instead of winter. We'll enjoy it as long as it lasts won't we, folks? I think a lot of our tenants are out with their walkers or just plain walking in this nice weather.
