I was sick and tired of picking up my kids after a long day at work, coming home, and barely getting inside the house before immediately having to cope with the blare of the television as my then seven-year-old ran to tune into whatever show happened

Family and friends joined Tom Caldwell at a birthday party. Tom is now a young 87.

It's hard to believe the opening day for this year's Battlefords Kiwanis Music festival is less than two months away.

Yep, we knew it was too good to be true! Winter did find us and when it did, it bit hard. Several reports of -40 drifted into the coffee shop. Funny how some people get a sad sense of accomplishment at others' expense.

The Borden Museum display for 2012 - 2013 will be A Century of Weddings and they are looking for dresses or accessories and photos that people would share to make this display possible.

I still read to my 13-year-old daughter at bedtime most nights we are home and neither of us has an outside activity. The bedtime story ritual continues to be important to both of us.

I feel since we started this column many of my stories have been sad and somewhat disturbing to many readers. I have received emails, phone calls and comments about how unaware people are of the situations we deal with every day.

The next workshop presented by the Chapel Gallery is Saturday, Feb. 11 and Sunday, Feb. 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Graham Flatt will be teaching this watercolour workshop. Flatt is a Lloydminster-based artist and instructor.

When you are a home owner there is never a time when there is not some kind of project eminent or in progress. Over the years I have built new homes, maintained some and renovated a few.

Last week we came back from our Christmas Holidays, and school is now back full swing. Next week is final exams week for Grades 10 to 12, and once they are over we will be starting the second semester.
