Legion bowling to be hosted

The Legion Ladies' Auxiliary No. 142 met for a monthly meeting at the clubroom with only five members present. Plans were made to serve soup and sandwiches for the Legion bowling Feb. 25 and 26.

The Allen Sapp Gallery and Chapel Gallery have planned a member appreciation event not to be missed. Gallery members are invited to the Chapel Gallery Saturday, Feb. 25 from 7 to 10 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Keith Bartlett and friends.

Legion hosts card tourney

The Maidstone Legion members hosted a Kaiser and cribbage tournament Jan 28 at the Legion Hall. A small crowd was in attendance, but those present enjoyed the afternoon.

Farmers eked out living on one quarter section

With great sadness we report of the recent passing of Joyce Wood of Lilac. Our deepest sympathy to her daughter Pauline Wood, and to Kevin and Carol Leng family of Ruddell and Saskatoon. Doug Johnston also passed away recently.

Monday, Dorothy Kissick was in Lloydminster to get new glasses. Sunday she was at the ice carnival to watch her great-grandchildren perform. Our deepest sympathy is extended to Ted Wesson and family on the loss of Shirley Wesson.

So far, to be enjoyed is this unseasonable mild winter. Many residents find it a pleasure to be out, most days. Many new residents are calling Tower I home. Welcome to each one and may they truly enjoy living here.

Basketball teams in action

This week has been exciting for the students of MHS. Thursday both our senior girls' and boys' basketball teams played home games. The senior boys played the Lashburn Lobos while the senior girls played the Turtleford Titans.

Oil field semi tractor burns

Story:The Waseca Fire Department was called out on Saturday evening, Feb. 11, to a location two miles north of the village where the tractor part of a semi-oil-truck was on fire.
