A release from City Hall says the landfill site has re-opened after a fire shut the site down this morning. At approximately 8 a.m. on Oct. 21 a minor fire at North Battleford’s waste management facility landfill was detected.

HUMBOLDT — A Humboldt business has received a community involvement award from the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce ABEX awards. The award was presented to Spotlight Sport and Corporate Wear in Saskatoon Oct. 19.

Submitted by Saskatchewan Lotteries Tracy Ridgewell and 35 of her friends were thrilled to find out they’d won $100,000 together on the Sept. 21 Extra draw.

Submitted Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation held the second set of draws in the $100,000 Cash Lottery on Friday, Oct. 18, awarding $25,000 to 16 lucky winners.

A fire at the City of North Battleford’ Waste Management Facility was discovered when staff when to work this morning, so the site will be closed until it’s out, said Tammy MacCormack, assistant director of utilities services.
