Battlefords RCMP responded to more than 50 calls for service between 6 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 and 6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21. Tuesday • 6:36 a.m.

The City of North Battleford has been active this year in the area of crime prevention through environmental design. The City has been implementing those principles in an effort to reduce crime and build a safer environment for citizens.

There are spaces still open in Living Sky School Division's Pre-K program and parents shouldn't assume that just because it is a criteria-based program their child is not eligible to attend.

Busing procedures for the Living Sky School Division are going to come under review. The board of education, as a committee of the whole, will be conducting the review over at least two specially called meetings in November.

A pedestrian was transported to Battlefords Union Hospital Thursday after being struck by a vehicle at 11307 8th Ave. North Battleford Fire Department reports attending the scene at just before 7 p.m.

A stabbing victim was treated at Battlefords Union Hospital early Thursday, Oct. 22, according to Battlefords RCMP The police responded at approximately 4:20 a.m. to report of a man suffering from stab wounds.

Two men are dead after a helicopter crashed on an island in the North Saskatchewan River north of Paynton Thursday, Oct. 22. RCMP say the crash was reported at around 2 p.m. Dead are the 55-year-old pilot from Campbell River, B.C.

S/Sgt. Darcy Woolfitt presented the quarterly crime statistics to the Battleford town council Monday, reporting calls for service basically remain the same compared to 2014.
