Actions show respect lost in today's society

As I was growing up one of the central beliefs, that were taught to me by family, was the respect of other people. Along with this was exemplified to me the conviction that if I was to show respect for a person I also had to respect property as well.

Wrapping up haying and traveling before harvest

The warm weather has made it possible for farmers to see a successful end to haying and silaging. The weather has also contributed to the ripening of crops and by the looks of things harvest will be in full swing soon.

Dumpster fires hit NB again

North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services had to deal with three dumpster fires last Thursday in the vicinity of the 1600 and 1700 blocks of 103rd and 104th street. The fires happened around 10pm that evening.

Theft of a boat

Lloydminster Rural RCMP are requesting the public's assistance with respect to the theft of a boat and trailer which happened sometime between Aug. 19 and Aug. 21. 2011.

Vehicle fire

Fire crews battled a truck fire at the rear of a residence on 110th Street on Sunday. On arrival, fire crews found that an accumulation of garbage in the rear box area had burned.

Both supporters and non-supporters alike mourned the passing of federal New Democratic Party leader Jack Layton on Monday. Layton, 61, died Monday following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Girl dies after dog attack on Mosquito reserve

A three-year-old girl is dead following an attack by dogs on the Mosquito First Nation reserve. RCMP and ambulance responded to a 911 call just before 7 p.m. Sunday night, Aug. 21, about a girl being injured by dogs on the reserve.
