Mayor Ryan Bater has conceded the North Battleford mayor’s race and has offered his congratulations to David Gillan on his election victory.

MELFORT — The unofficial results in Melfort’s mayoral election place former councillor Glenn George as the new mayor, only five votes more than incumbent mayor Rick Lang. While George received 583 votes, Lang received 578.

The North Battleford mayor’s race turned ugly during the final few days as vandalism hit the campaign of the incumbent. There were reports over the weekend of extensive damage to a number of signs for Mayor Ryan Bater throughout the community.

HUMBOLDT — Michael Behiel has been elected as Humboldt’s new mayor with a total of 760 votes. Following Behiel was Lorne Pratchler with 549 votes, and Harley Bentley with 130 votes. The election took place on Nov. 9.

There is a big change at the top at City Hall in North Battleford. David Gillan has been elected mayor of North Battleford, easing out incumbent Ryan Bater 1198 to 988 in Monday's municipal election.
