GOLBURN — The small town fair comes around the corner at Golburn.

Firearms, clothing and money have been taken from a residence in Wilkie. RCMP are investigating a break-in at the residence on the 600 block of 1st Street West between 1:30 p.m. July 25 and 8:30 p.m. July 26.

For the second time in a month a train derailment involving rail cars carrying liquid asphalt has occurred near Rockhaven. Saturday, Unity RCMP responded to a report of a derailment south of Rockhaven.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is investigating health claims against the Englefeld Hogfest. Eleven people have come forward saying they contracted salmonella at this year’s annual event, announced the authority in a July 20 in a press release.

CARROT RIVER —The Carrot River Fire and Rescue were called to a house in Carrot River that was struck by lightning. The call happened on the morning of July 30.

After approximately two and a half years of investigation, no charges will be laid as a result of GTH land transactions, RCMP announced Wednesday.
