The Liberals have gotten off to a fast start based on early results out of Atlantic Canada. The Atlantic results had the Liberals leading or elected in 32 of the 32 ridings, with the Conservatives and even the New Democrats losing seats.

With just a half hour left before poll closuew, there were still lineupsat polling stations at Alex Dillabough Centre in Battleford tonight.

The flooring for the new gymnasium at North Battleford Comprehensive is due to arrive this week, and it's expected to take between four and six weeks for it to be installed. It's the last major step toward putting the new space into use.

A pedestrian was struck and killed by an eastbound vehicle on Highway 16 near Maidstone Friday night. The incident happened around 8:20 p.m. about 1.5 kilometres east of the community.

There was a single vehicle collision Saturday involving a semi truck carrying anhydrous ammonia. According to Battlefords RCMP, they were assisting on the scene around the Iffley grid road north of the Battlefords near Highway 4.

Last Tuesday marked the return of the legislative session in Regina. The session will meet for 25 days before the legislature wraps up and MLAs get ready for a spring provincial election in 2016.

At 3:10 p.m. Saturday, North Battleford RCMP said they were assisting on the Iffley Grid Road north of Battleford near Highway 4 with a single vehicle collision involving a semi truck hauling anhydrous ammonia.

The provincial government says there are 500 new doctors in Saskatchewan since 2007-08. The news was announced Oct. 13, with the government releasing a number of figures showing increases, particularly in the rural and remote areas of the province.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. the Maidstone RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by an eastbound vehicle on Highway 16 approximately one mile east of the town of Maidstone.
