The government of Saskatchewan wants school boards to ensure students engage in 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity daily.

Building permits continue to be on a torrid pace in the town of Battleford.

It was a routine and brief Battleford town council meeting Monday night, with councillors getting through all of the business of the meeting in a little over 15 minutes. Two resolutions were voted on.

Residents throughout Prairie North Health Region (PNHR) have the opportunity Nov. 1 - 30 to participate in a region-wide medication roundup. The month-long program is being expanded this year to cover the entire region.

North Battleford RCMP responded to more than 20 calls for service between 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4. Over the noted time period, RCMP madetwo arrests relating to alcohol offences.

Two eastbound lanes on Railway Avenue in front of Fas Gas are closed today until 1 p.m. as crews take groundwater samples. The eastbound curb and northern-most eastbound lane at 391 Railway Avenue will be closed for the duration of the work.

Winter has arrived in the Northwest and SGI wants drivers to be prepared. "That first snowfall always seems to throw drivers for a loop," said Andrew Cartmell, president and CEO of SGI.

The North Battleford RCMP detachment responded to more than 130 calls for service over the three-day period between 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31 and 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3.

A Husqvarna leaf blower has been stolen from a grain truck parked in a field near Rochaven Road. Cut Knife RCMP say the theft occurred during the day Oct. 4.

A vehicle fire on Thatcher Avenue Sunday had North Battleford Fire Department on the scene for about 45 minutes. According to NBFD the call came in at about 1:45 p.m.
