Those seeking to help make North Battleford a healthier and safer community will be hosting a community barbecue this Thursday during the noon hour. The North Battleford HUB is hosting that barbecue in Central Park between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

It was a quiet 24 hours for North Battleford RCMP as they responded to less than 20 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Monday, June 9 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 10.

Battlefords RCMP responded to about 38 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Friday, June 6 and 6 a.m. Saturday, June 7. Among those calls were two false alarms, five municipal bylaw/noise complaints and three traffic related complaints.

An armed robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from a business located in the 1100 block of 107th Street Friday. Battlefords RCMP say a man entered the business armed with a knife at about 10 p.m.
