Community minded citizen, Gerald Gratton, approached city council Monday night and voiced his concerns about what he described as unsafe conditions at the Borden Crescent Park.

A 61-year-old man is dead following a head-on collision between a car and a semi-trailer unit on Hwy. 5 east of Humboldt on July 20. A white Chrysler In-trepid was traveling west-bound on Hwy. 5 at around 2 p.m.

A search and rescue operation at Turtle Lake tuned out happily for the family of a four-year-old boy when wandered away from his home in a wooded area on the northwest side of the lake late Thursday Afternoon.

A new Emergency Planning Bylaw is in the works for North Battleford. A draft of the proposed new bylaw was presented at Monday's municipal services committee meeting of city council for review, comments and discussion.

Building permits dipped in March in the city of North Battleford, although numbers are strong for the year so far. A total of 10 permits for $883,000 were issued compared to 12 for $2,914,000 issued in March 2010.

The Tot Lot in Battleford is open again for the summer. It opened June 1 and will be open until Aug. 20. The hours are Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sunday and holidays 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
