Brian Keegan will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame Aug. 16. Keegan, formerly of Swift Current, will be placed in the individual category, as a player and builder.

The Battle West District is sending more than 90 student athletes to the track and field provincial championships Friday and Saturday in Moose Jaw. They will compete in a combined 160 events over the two-day meet.

There are two undefeated teams remaining in the NSRBL. The Lloydminster Twins and Border City Blue Jays are both 4-0 and sit tied for first in the league's standings.

The Battleford Midgets remain undefeated in the BLFL. During last week's play, Battleford beat the Unity Bantams May 26. They followed with a 7-3 victory over the Maidstone Ladies. Also May 28, the Unity Midgets downed the Unity Bantams 14-2.

The North Battleford Beavers fell to 0-3 after a rain-soaked game against the Border City Blue Jays Tuesday night at Beaver Lions Stadium. The Blue Jays downed the Beavers 5-2 to win their fourth-straight game to start the season.

The Battlefords North Stars acquired goaltender Spencer Tremblay from the BCHL's Chilliwack Chiefs in exchange for forward Luke McColgan. In 13 games played for the Chiefs last season, the 19-year-old from Winnipeg, Man. had a 5-7 record with a 5.

The North Battleford Beavers have had a slow start out of the gate for the 2014 NSRBL season. The Beavers dropped their second straight home game to start the season Friday night, losing to the Edam Blue Sox 4-1 at Beaver Lions Stadium.

2014 Saskatchewan Roughriders training camp presented by Groundforce Drilling got underway Sunday morning here at Griffith's Stadium and I can't make this stuff up - there was a dark, grey cloud hanging over the proceedings.

The Meadow Lake Sox spoiled the North Battleford Beavers home opener Wednesday night. The Sox batted around the order in the second and seventh innings en route to a 10-6 win over the Beavers at Beaver Lions Stadium in NSRBL action.

John Paul II Collegiate student Jesse Starr won the Female Sports and Recreation Achievement award at the SaskTel Aboriginal Youth Awards of Excellence in Saskatoon May 23.
