Country music star Chris Henderson coming to Tisdale

Two vehicles were stolen on New Year’s Day by what Tisdale RCMP suspect is the same person. The first, a white Chevrolet Tahoe, was stolen from a Tisdale residence. That was reported to Tisdale RCMP at around 9 a.m. Jan 1.

Both the Nipawin Hawks and Melfort Mustangs made last-minute roster changes before the deadline. The Mustangs only made one move Jan. 10, with most of their action happening the days before, while the Hawks made two trades on the day.

The deadline to run for the Saskatchewan Party nomination for Melfort has passed and there’s no surprises. Todd Goudy , Tim Hoenmans , Scott Lessmeister and Louise Schweitzer are officially running for the position.

It’ll be a quiet week on the ice for each of the 12 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League clubs next week, but for a number of players, there will be plenty of hockey to be played.

A Nipawin councillor selected in a byelection is himself resigning, sparking the need for a byelection. Ray Serack cited personal reasons as the motive for his resignation, which is effective Jan. 11.

Tisdale RCMP are asking for the public’s help to find a criminal who used a stolen vehicle to try to steal items from G&R Small Motor Service. The lone suspect first stole a white Buick LeSabre near Tiffany Apartments. At approximately 5 a.m. on Jan.

The Bjorkdale Co-op was broken into and some petty food items were stolen. Tisdale RCMP say the crime occurred just before 6 a.m. Jan. 8.

The Melfort Mustangs pushed their current winning streak to five straight games with a tidy 3-0 win over the Flin Flon Bombers in Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League action from Melfort. The Jan.
