MELFORT — Despite ending the season in the red, the Melfort Mustangs are upbeat going into their 30th year on the ice. “Last season was a challenging one,” said Jaret Schneider, the team’s marketing manager.

GREENWATER LAKE — Greenwater Lake Provincial Park is receiving close to $1 million in funding towards infrastructure as part of an investment of more than $2 million towards parks in the province’s central region.

MELFORT — Council will allow the Northeast Christian Fellowship to use the Melfort Journal building as a place of worship – as long as it is brought up to code. The decision was made at a special council meeting Aug. 23.

MELFORT — Melfort has decided its cannabis stores need to be at least 150 metres away from schools, playgrounds and licensed daycares. All of council voted in favour of the new regulation at a special meeting Aug. 23.

MELFORT — An auction for Melfort’s old Chamber of Commerce building has ended, but despite having bids, the building remains unsold. The auction ended on Aug. 10 with the highest bidding being $15,500.

TISDALE — The construction of the new Beeland Co-op location in Tisdale put David and Kay Snider in a hole, as they found a massive ditch at the end of their property line. The construction on the ditch began on June 20.
