ST. BRIEUX — St. Brieux’s Bourgault Industries has issued layoff notices to seven per cent of its workforce. In a release, the company said the layoffs will take effect in approximately eight weeks.

NIPAWIN — The Nipawin Hawks is having their second annual Sports Gala. The fundraising event takes place Nov. 17 at the Evergreen Centre in Nipawin.

A chainsaw and tool chest were among the $3,500 worth of items stolen from a home and quonset in the RM of Ponass Lake. The crime occured Oct. 16 at 4:30 pm, according to the Greenwater RCMP.

TISDALE — More details about the Telus Western Regionals that will be held in Tisdale have emerged.

ROSE VALLEY, FOSSTON — Two break and enters in the Rose Valley area have local RCMP asking for the public’s help The first one happened at a home in Rose Valley between Aug. 19 and Sept. 1. Approximately $4,000 worth of tools were stolen.

MELFORT — Two Melfort residents have been fined almost $16,000, plus had around $20,000 worth of hunting equipment seized, for running an illegal outfitting operation.

MELFORT — Several RVs and one truck were destroyed in a fire at the industrial area in north Melfort. Firefighters responded to the call at 5:20 am on Sept. 5.

THUNDER RAPIDS — A work trailer near the E.B. Campbell Dam on Highway #123 was broken into and $12,000 worth of items were stolen.

TISDALE — The RECplex roof will take longer and cost more than expected. The $1.3 million project began a month later than planned, in April.
