TISDALE — A Tisdale-based hockey player has committed to the University of Prince Edward Island beginning in the fall. Nick Shumlanski becomes the fourth member of the 2017-18 Humboldt Broncos to announce a post-secondary commitment.

ARBORFIELD — A play based on real events taking place in 1967 Arborfield has ended its run in Rosthern. Prairie Nurse was written by Marie Beath Badian about her mother’s own experiences.

ROSE VALLEY — A garage in Rose Valley was broken into and a numerous small items were stolen. The Greenwater RCMP said the crime happened between the late hours of July 18 and the early hours of July 19.

MELFORT— Melfort city council will be proposing a distance for cannabis stores of 150 meters from schools, parks and licensed daycares. According to Brent Lutz, Melfort’s community development manager, this shouldn’t affect the businesses too much.

KELVINGTON — The Kelvington Agricultural Society is keeping their tradition alive with their 95th annual agricultural fair and race meet. Society president Rylan By said there's something for everyone at the Aug.
