Update: Rodney Slusar has been found safe and sound. TISDALE — A 70-year-old man has gone missing and the Tisdale RCMP are asking for the public's help in locating him. Rodney Slusar was last seen at a residence near Tisdale July 20 at around 6 p.m.

MELFORT — Melfort RMCP seized a firearm and arrested three people of interest after an incident at the Melfort Exhibition. On July 20 at around 7:50 p.m., the police responded to a complaint of a male at the fair with what appeared to be a firearm.

CARROT RIVER — Carrot River and the RM of Moose Range are close to hiring a new fire chief. The two municipalities received 13 applicants for the position, which was advertised as equivalent to 0.6 of a full-time job.

TISDALE, NIPAWIN — It’s a happy ending to a story that began with the theft of a boat motor, thanks to the Tisdale Fire Department.

NIPAWIN — The Nipawin Regional Park is celebrating its 50th anniversary. “The park, it’s grown and changed over the years, and it has become a destination for many campers in the summer,” said Rhonda Rasmussen, with the Nipawin Regional Park.

KELVINGTON — Greenwater RCMP are asking for help after a man attempted to convince a six-year-old Kelvington girl to get into his vehicle. The child ran for help and the male drove off in his vehicle. The event happened July 18 at around 8 p.m.

TISDALE — There’s a new family doctor in town, and her name is Dr. Mahfuza Rahman. Rahman studied medicine in Bangladesh and practised medicine there for 14 years before moving to Toronto in 2012.

MELFORT — A 113-year-old Melfort tradition is returning to entertain children and adults alike. The Melfort Agricultural Society is holding this year’s Melfort Exhibition on July 20 to 22. “Our attendance has been increasing a little bit every year.

NIPAWIN — Nipawin residents are going to have to wait a bit longer to find out where cannabis shops are allowed to be.
