NORTHEAST — While staff’s being cut at the legal aid offices in Saskatoon, the same is not true for the Northeast.

TISDALE — Tisdale RCMP received a report of an alleged incident involving a man who was trying to lure children into his truck with candy. The incident occurred on the evening of July 30 within the 1200 block of 100th Street.

SHAND — The Shand Fair, put on by the Shand Agricultural Society, comes back this year. The fair includes a cattle show, horse judging, hall exhibits, petting zoo, climbing wall and children’s games.

GOLBURN — The small town fair comes around the corner at Golburn.

CARROT RIVER —The Carrot River Fire and Rescue were called to a house in Carrot River that was struck by lightning. The call happened on the morning of July 30.

MELFORT — For a lot of players who play junior A, the dream is to receive a scholarship to play post-secondary hockey.

TISDALE — Starting next week, curbside recycling in Tisdale will be collected every two weeks instead of every month.

MELFORT —Jaime Trautman won this week’s Chase the Ace in Melfort. The winnings, given out on July 26, were $32,056. Her ticket was bought by her aunt Pat Rumberger, who served as a proxy for Trautman, who lives in Red Deer.

NORTHEAST — The province is changing the structure of the organization that recruits doctors.
