A couple of weeks ago I had a little rant about healthcare in our area, or lack of it I should say. We received four letters in response, including a response from the Premier's office.

In all the talk about the new Saskatchewan, what sometimes gets lost is that not everything about the old Saskatchewan was bad. There again, perhaps it is time every now and again to refresh old attitudes.

On Wednesday, Feb. 27 approximately 162 kids throughout pre-Kindergarten and grade four were introduced to soccer with the help of Chris Chisholm who works with the Saskatchewan Soccer Association.

As the storm raged, the captain realized his ship was sinking fast. He called out, "Anyone here know how to pray?" One man stepped forward. "Aye, Captain, I know how to pray.

If there is one thing I love about my personal and business friends it is the diversity of culture, personality and language that they bring to my life. In particular, I love their accents.

Mary Ann McWhirter's letter to the editor on January 19, 2013 has prompted me to write once again to voice my concerns and opinions regarding our health care, although deep down I realize it will not make a difference.

Regular readers will know I am supportive of the idea of genetically modified crops.

On March 7 the Carlyle and District Lions Club is holding their 22nd Annual Fundraising Dinner, Raffle, and Auction at Memorial Hall. Viewing of items will begin at 5:30 p.m. while happy hour starts at 6 p.m. and supper at 7 p.m.

Between Feb. 15 and Feb. 21 the Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to 50 calls. On Feb. 15 there was a false alarm call at a business in Kenosee Lake. An employee was on site and called RCMP immediately to let them they were not needed.

1945 and passed away suddenly Saturday, February 2, 2013, in a tragic car accident. She was married to the love of her life, Philippe Beaudet and they enjoyed 37 wonderful years.
