ALIDA - The Alida Archives & Library board members appreciate the support that they received from the sale of some of their stuff.

Special appreciation goes to the Redvers Library and Moosomin Library, who both purchased some of our library shelving units. And of course appreciation goes to all who visited and purchased many of our books – we do hope that you’ll enjoy the books you chose.

Just a reminder that there are still a large number of books still available –call either Shelly at 306-485-7023 or Edel at 306-485-8561 to set up an appointment to come visit the library and pick out some books at your convenience. We do aim to please.

Now that there are new COVID-19 restrictions in place – do keep an eye and ear open as to the happenings for the Alida Haunted House & Fun Fair that is in the process of being built and organized as a fun-raising event near the end of October at the Alida Rink.

We are hoping that this event will still go ahead while following the COVID-19 restrictions, otherwise it may have to be cancelled. So it’s up the air right at this time.

Sept. 20 was election day. Hopefully you did your duty and cast a ballot for the one you feel will do a good job at governing our country. Do the democratic thing and vote.

Please remember folks to keep me posted whenever you have news on any happenings that are going on in and around Alida as well as within your own family circle – simply contact me any time. I will be sure to see that it gets into my column. I do appreciate all your input as it does help to make things interesting.
