Police arrest individual for assault and uttering threats

ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service members responded to an incident on Oct. 12, which led to the arrest of an individual for assault and uttering threats. 

The accused was held in custody for court in the morning.

The same day, police received an automated 911 call from an iPhone, indicating that a collision had occurred on the west side of the city. The owner of the phone was located, but no collision had occurred. Members determined the individual's phone was not functioning.

On Oct. 11, members received a report of a large truck that was parked on a street and blocking views for oncoming traffic. Police attended and the vehicle was parked legally.

The EPS also responded to a report of an assault at a local apartment complex. The matter is still under investigation.

Officers dealt with a report of fraud. The EPS members obtained a statement from the victim who was attempting to purchase items off of the internet. The victim had provided money for the items, but the items never arrived, and the victim is unable to contact the seller.

A man was arrested for breaching the conditions of his release. He was transported to the EPS station, where he was held overnight and then taken in front of a judge in the morning.
