Bruins split road games in La Ronge

LA RONGE - The Estevan Bruins picked up a split in their two games played up north in La Ronge this week.

One night after crushing the Ice Wolves 7-3, the Bruins fell 3-1 on Wednesday night.

After a scoreless first period, La Ronge's Walker Jerome opened the scoring 87 seconds into the second period. It remained a 1-0 game until Bruin forward Olivier Pouliot scored with 94 seconds to play in the middle stanza.

Neither team would score again until La Ronge's Tye Evans tallied with 42 seconds remaining in the third period. Jerome added his second of the game into an empty net with 13 seconds to play. 

Boston Bilous made 31 saves for the Bruins. Dawson Smith stopped 40 shots for La Ronge.

The Bruins (40-10-1-3, 84 points) will be back on the ice Saturday when they host the Melville Millionaires. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
