Premier Scott Moe and chief medical health officer Dr. Saqib Shahab announced 34 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan. Of the 34 cases reported Monday, 33 are a result of the outbreaks reported in the north or far north.

A hockey player from Arcola who played minor hockey in Estevan was selected in Wednesday’s Western Hockey League Bantam Draft. Forward Carson Birnie was chosen in the eighth round, 160th overall, by the Red Deer Rebels.

The Carlyle RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance with a recent driving complaint. According to the Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network, on April 20 at approximately 4 p.m.

The Cornerstone Theatre Group made a donation of $1,000.00 to the Carlyle and District Food Bank. Cornerstone Theatre members Diane Tweitmeyer and Craig Savill organized the donation and forwarded the cheque to Theresa Luedtke at the Food Bank.

On Saturday, April 25 the residents at Moose Mountain Lodge in Carlyle were entertained by singer Maddison Townsend of Alida. Townsend was set up outside the Lodge and residents were able to view her through the window.

Members of the Carlyle RCMP and Traffic Services held a memorial on April 24 for Constable Heidi Stevenson who lost her life in the tragedy that took place in Nova Scotia.

Carlyle and R.M. #63 Fire and Rescue made a gesture of support for the Carlyle RCMP, making a very difficult day a little easier when they showed they were thinking of their fellow emergency responders at the Carlyle RCMP Detachment.
