Father’s Day is coming up (and so is my birthday. On the same day this year. I won’t go into how I feel about having to share my day). I love to celebrate the people in my life.

The Western Canada Junior AAA 21U Championships will bring the best baseball talent from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba to Weyburn’s Tom Laing Park from Aug. 12 to 14.

Students at Oxbow Prairie Horizons School (OPHS) have shown their commitment to the environment, and have been rewarded with top spot for Saskatchewan in a nation-wide competition.

The Benson 4-H Beef Club conducted a bake sale in conjunction with their fundraising barbecue on May 7. The results were very encouraging, said club members. The event was staged at the Western Horse Unlimited sale.

There could be an agriculture record broken this summer and the Canadian Foodgrains Bank will be the major benefactor, if it is.

The Estevan Police Service hopes to see a healthy turnout from the public when they host their inaugural Coffee with the Cops on June 29 at the Estevan Leisure Centre’s multipurpose room, starting at 7 p.m.
