Darren Jones is pleased with how his newest tree sculptures in Estevan turned out. Jones used a chainsaw to carve a pair of 12-foot tree stumps in the 1200-block of Third Street; one was from a poplar tree and the other was from a Dutch elm.

Darren Jones carving work on two trees in the 1200-block of Third Street in Estevan has wrapped up. Jones, who is a chainsaw sculptor from Rimbey, Alta., was in Estevan in late June and early July to work on the project for the City of Estevan.

Zane Short from Milestone 4-H Beef Club earned the Reserve Champion Steer for the 4-H Inter Club Competition. He showed a Charolais cross steer which weighed at 1,283 lbs. Pictured with him holding the banner is his friend Kaden Beck.

4-H Overall Grand Champion

Emma Lees from Arcola Kisbey 4-H Beef Club won the Grand Champion Steer for the 4-H Inter Club Competition. She won with her Angus cross steer which weighed at 1,429 lbs. Pictured with her holding the banner is her sister Becca Lees.
