Southeast Saskatchewan folk/roots trio Hook and Nail celebrated the release of their debut album Ghosts of Taylorton on Saturday night at Art Concepts Custom Framing in Estevan.

Artist Michelle Brownridge, left, provided tips and guidance to a group of students as they learned about how to do relief printing, in a workshop held on Friday as a part of the City of Weyburn’s Culture Days celebration.

The Collage Cultural Arts Fair in Estevan continues to be a celebration of the diverse cultures in the city. The annual event on Saturday at the Estevan Exhibition Association’s building featured entertainment, food vendors, activities and displays.

Hook & Nail, an eccentric folk/roots trio from Estevan, uses rich harmony and a unique blend of acoustic and electric instrumentation to tell the stories of the prairies, past and present.

The Weyburn Concert Series will present The Everly Brothers Experience featuring the Zmed Brothers in concert, kicking off the Concert Series’ 50th anniversary on Monday, Oct. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cugnet Centre.

Estevan’s Art Concepts was host to renowned Canadian painter Michael Lonechild on Sept. 21. Lonechild is a Cree, Native-Canadian painter who is best known for his brightly coloured depictions of historical and present-day Cree culture. Born in Oct.

Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) held their rendition of the Snow Queen at the Souris Valley Theatre’s Frehlick Hall on September 20, in coordination with the Estevan Arts Council’s Koncerts for Kids series.

The Collage Cultural Arts Fair is returning to Estevan this year, and will bring a variety of musical acts and food vendors.
