The city of Estevan was treated to a John Mellencamp concert Friday night at Affinity Place. Few seats were empty when the show began as Mellencamp went through new and old songs for over an hour and a half.

Students from the Estevan Comprehensive School's musical production of Footloose performed several scenes during the United Way Estevan's telethon on Friday evening. It marked the first time the scenes have been performed publicly.

The United Way Estevan had its best opening day ever for its telethon. This year's telethon, taking place at the Royal Canadian Legion's Estevan branch, received $136,640 in donations on Friday, the highest total ever for a Friday.

The Grade 1 class at Sacred Heart School performed a dance at the United Way Estevan Telethon on Friday morning. The telethon opened at 8 a.m. and will continue until 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The Alice Cooper concert at Affinity Place in August wound up losing money for the City of Estevan. Financial statements for the concert featuring the rock icon were released at Monday night’s meeting of Estevan city council.

A sold-out crowd of approximately 400 people packed the Orpheum Theatre in Estevan to watch David James and Big River's tribute concert to famed country music stars Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings.

The Estevan Art Gallery and Museum hosted its annual Halloween Haunt on Saturday afternoon. Families flocked to the EAGM for the pre-Halloween festivities. They enjoyed such activities as crafts, Halloween-themed photos, games and movies.

While they may never have specifically been in Estevan at any point, John Mellencamp and his band are no strangers to places this size.

The date and location have been finalized for the first Living Room Live concert to be held in Estevan. It will be held on Thursday, Nov. 1 at the home of Molly Heier at 1933 First Street, at 7:30 p.m.
