Former Weyburn pianist Meagan Milatz and violinist Amy Hillis, also known as meagan&amy, have been selected for a pan-Canadian tour offered by Debut Atlantic, Jeunesses Musicales Canada and Prairie Debut in 2019-2020.

One of the Estevan area’s primary tourist attractions is getting ready for another season of performances and laughter on the stage.

Talented local artists and crafters showcased their products during the inaugural Artisan Fair for Estevan on Saturday and Sunday at the Souris Valley Theatre’s grounds.

The first week of June was a memorable one for McKenzie Warriner of Alameda. The daughter of Foster and Anita Warriner, she graduated from the University of Manitoba’s classical voice performance program on Wednesday.

Roy Rogers Jr. (Dusty) has joined the legendary Sons of the Pioneers and together are scheduled to perform in Manitoba and Saskatchewan in June, including a show in Weyburn on Saturday, June 23, at the Cugnet Centre.

The Estevan Arts Council wrapped up its Kids Create Arts Classes on Thursday evening at the arts council’s craft room. The classes started back in March, and featured weekly sessions to teach kids about paper maché, acrylic painting and pastel oils.

A southeast Saskatchewan committee has been recognized for its efforts to promote heritage efforts in the area. Heritage Saskatchewan announced the winners of the 2018 Lieutenant Governor Heritage Awards on Tuesday morning.

The Drewitz School of Dance’s 35th annual Spotlight on the Stars dance recital was not only a celebration of the studio’s current talent, but it was also a tribute to its past.

One of the top American rock musicians of the last four decades is coming to Estevan. John Mellencamp will bring his Sad Clowns and Hillbillies Tour to Affinity Place on Oct. 26. The show will begin at 8 p.m.

The new branch manager for the Estevan Public Library has enjoyed his experience in this city thus far. Lucas Reid started working at the library last week.
