The organizers for the Estevan and District Music Festival have started to accept registrations for the annual showcase of local musical talent. Music festival committee president Esther Bangsund said the deadline to sign up for the festival is Jan.

The Estevan Art Gallery and Museum (EAGM) has been hit with cuts as part of the city’s 2018 budget that focuses on savings in response to cuts at the provincial level. The city budget was made public recently and is still in the discussion stages.

Talented local musicians showcased their singing and instrumental abilities for the Rotary Club of Estevan’s 65th annual Christmas Carol Festival on Sunday night at St. Paul’s United Church.

The annual Dickens play hosted by Cornerstone Theatre was a huge success. This year’s play “Carol” was, as always, based on Charles Dickens’ work “A Christmas Carol,” but with a modernized setting.

The Southeast Chorus and the Northwest Chorus came together on Saturday and Sunday for their annual celebration of Christmas music.

Crocus 80 Theatre will present the romantic comedy play, “The Love List”, as a Christmas dinner theatre production at the Weyburn Legion Hall, with one performance to be as a dessert matinee. The play will be produced on Friday and Saturday, Dec.

Arts Concepts Custom Framing hosed its first reception on Nov. 23 and the event experienced a very high attendance. The artist at the event was painter Lindsay Arnold.

The Rotary Club of Assiniboia and Popcorn Production presented the play, “Things My Mother Taught Me” written by Katherine DiSavino.

After months of hard work and rehearsals, the Estevan Comprehensive School (ECS) is ready for its biennial musical.School of Rock will be performed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., and on Sunday at 2 p.m.
