The Weyburn Comp School has taken over the Relay for Life fundraiser for Weyburn this year. A special event to raise awareness and funds for the Canadian Cancer Society will be held Saturday, May 24 at the Comp, called "Friends of Relay".

Tommy Wagner loves to dance, as the music beats in his heart and his soul, and his biggest dream is to get to Los Angeles as a professional dancer.

Weyburn Arts Council hosted two receptions April 25. The 2014 Local Adjudication Reception was held at Signal Hill Gallery. During the day professional artist, Leslie Potter critiqued the work of 13 local artists.

Due to a lack of ticket sales, the dinner portion of the performance of Grease scheduled for Sunday, May 4 has been cancelled. However, the show must go on. The Sunday performance will take place at 7 p.m.

Weyburn and area residents involved in the study of music are invited to submit their applications for an annual music award. The application deadline for the annual $2000 Helen Davidson Music Award is Wednesday, April 30.

Art Farm II is a gathering of over 30 artists, exhibiting and selling their work and is a family event that will include, food provided as a fundraiser for The Weyburn Youth Center, live music, face painting, kids activities, horse drawn wagon rides,

Crocus Quilt Guild is working behind the scenes to get ready for Spring Bouquet of Quilts V on May 9 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and May 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Weyburn Curling Rink.

Ken Pichie, in the bucket, and Bob Hodgins work on trimming dead branches and cutting down dead trees at the Therapeutic Animal Park on Wednesday.

Weyburn Comp students in the Entrepreneurship 30 class manufacture individualized glasses from recycled wine and beer bottles as part of their business plan.
