The Estevan novice Bearcats had a great showing at a tournament in Bethune on the weekend, finishing second with a 2-1 record. The Bearcats opened the tournament with a 4-0 victory over Regina Blue.

The Estevan Sharks water polo program is hosting its annual home tournament Sunday at the RM of Estevan Aquatic Centre. The tournament features games in three different divisions. In the girls division, the Sharks are one of three teams entered.

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings had a home-and-home series this weekend with their Highway 39 rivals, the Estevan Bruins. The Red Wings had home-ice advantage first on Friday night.

The Estevan Bruins streak of recording a point came to an end at seven straight games Saturday night in a 1-0 loss to the Weyburn Red Wings at Affinity Place.

The Weyburn Richardson Pioneer Gold Wings are on a three-game winning streak after defeating the Saskatoon Stars 5-4 in a shootout tonight. Previously the Gold Wings beat the Sharks 3-2 in overtime in Battleford on Jan.

Dain Sardelli scored twice and Erik Boers notched the winner with less than six minutes to play in the third period in the Estevan Bruins 4-3 victory over the Weyburn Red Wings Friday night in Weyburn.

The Alameda Curling Rink will once again host a 64-team bonspiel in 2020. In mid-March, the hockey ice will be transformed once again into five sheets of curling ice for some fun and entertaining curling action.

The Carievale 4-H Beef Club hosted the District 41 curling showdown Jan. 3 at the Gainsborough Curling Rink, with 62 curlers entered. Forty of the entries were playing for fun and 22 were in the competitive division.
