A group of runners set off from the starting line for the senior boys 100-metre race, at an area track meet held on Saturday at the Weyburn Comprehensive School track, with schools from throughout the southeast region taking part.

A member of the Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs badminton team has advanced to the upcoming provincial tournament. Ruth Pecson won the girls singles competition at the regional playdowns in Melville on Saturday.

The Estevan Motor Speedway has a full schedule planned for its upcoming 20th season. The season officially kicks off May 4 with a regular program, starting at 3 p.m.

Even before the Estevan Motor Speedway held its first program in the summer of 2000, it was clear that the track was going to be a hit. The track held a practice sessions a couple of weeks before that opening day program.

The Gladmar Falcons senior girls basketball team came home with the silver medal from Hoopla, to cap off a highly successful basketball season, along with the sportsmanship banner from the provincial championships.

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins want to be the hosts for the 2021 national junior A championship. The Bruins officially submitted their bid document for the tournament on Tuesday afternoon to Hockey Canada.
