Motocross racers speed around the track at the Raymond Giroux memorial track on Saturday, for a South Corner Racing Circuit race.

On Saturday, the Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs took on the Central Cyclones in Moose Jaw. The game went to overtime and each team got one possession. The Elecs scored on theirs but missed the convert, putting them ahead 27-21.

On Saturday, September 20, the Weyburn Golf Club held its annual Club Championship. Results were: Junior Division: first - Jaxon Chartrand - 101; second - Nolan Ling - 106 and third - Jacob Butz - 108.

District golf playoffs for the South East District Athletic Association were held on Monday, Sept. 15, at Golf Kenosee. A group of 55 youth, consisting mostly of male participants and six female golfers took to the course to showcase their skills.

It has not been an ideal start for the CanElson Drilling Estevan Bruins. A poor start hurt them in their home opener on Friday, as they lost 3-2 to the Melville Millionaires, one night after falling 3-1 in Melville.

The ladies of Weyburn's roller derby team, the Strait Jackettes, are ready and pumped for their second match of the season, as they host the Regina Gravediggers on Saturday, Sept. 27 for the "Fall Equi-Knocks".

Although the points races ended in August, the 2014 season at Estevan Motor Speedway officially wrapped up on Sunday. One week after the popular Eve of Destruction event, the Speedway played host to two more undertakings on the weekend.

When the clock struck halftime, things were looking good for the Estevan Sherritt Coal Miners, as they sought their first win in their last game of the season.

Weyburn's Kathryn Groshong has proven that age does not necessarily have to be a reason to give up sports. From Aug. 27 to 30, the 88-year-old participated in the Canada 55-plus Senior Games in Sherwood Park, Alta.
