Sadly, summer is over. I hope that you had a great time with things like camping, boating, road trips, concerts, reunions and weddings. Summer is made for having fun and creating memories.

In a recent article, I began by quoting one of my most frequent prayers these days: “O Lord, please send rain.” Thankfully we’ve had a bit, not a lot, but enough to cool the temperatures and slightly decrease the risk of fires in our area.

This last week I got to experience a completely new activity and it was amazing. It made me realize that trying new things is such a gift and that I should continue to be intentional to make it a priority.

Cheers: Cheers to the Estevan Humane Society for bringing the Duck Derby to Estevan. It was a fun way to spend a couple of hours. Cheers to the return of hockey season in the Estevan area. Hopefully the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins have a good season.

It’s hard to believe that Sept. 5 marked the 17-year anniversary of my arrival in Estevan. The city has changed a lot in that time. I would hope I’ve changed a lot as well. The past year has certainly brought a lot of changes for me.
