The 18th annual Swing for Scholarships Golf Tournament raised $34,000 for student scholarships The 18th Annual “Swing for Scholarships” Golf tournament was held September 9 at the Weyburn Golf Club.

Great music and a fun evening out on the town will be offered during the Harvest Fling cabaret, a fundraising event for the Young Fellows Club of Weyburn.

Weyburn and area residents can be exposed to a wide variety of arts and culture as the City hosts workshops and art shows at a number of venues for Culture Days, which runs from Friday, Sept. 30 to Sunday, Oct. 2.

John Wesley “Wes” Mann, late of Midale, passed away September 8, 2016, at the age of 62 years.

Mary Joan Johnston, late of Weyburn, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 after a valiant fight with cancer for nearly 30 years on and off. She was born in Weyburn, the only child of the late John and Mary Chalmers.

John Randall “Randy” Howe passed peacefully from this earthly plane Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Born January 6, 1942 he was the only child of John and Edna (McTaggart) Howe. Randy, as he was known, was truly one of Weyburn’s favorite native sons.
