Lawrence Andrew Backlun was born November 20, 1924 in the Slager School District, southwest of Tribune. He passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2016 at the age of 91 at the Radville Marian Health Centre.

Peter J. Lacey of Winnipeg, MB passed away on May 10, 2016. He had been hospitalized with complications from an infection, diabetes, and cancer of the liver. Born in England, Pete came to Saskatchewan in 1957.

The Weyburn Junior High held their final awards ceremony on the last day they were open, on June 28, at an afternoon assembly.
